Getting Started
What is PrimeLot Cards?
PrimeLot Cards is the only card marketplace that charges zero commission on your sales. List singles, lots, or sealed products and keep 100% of what you earn. Built for sellers, trusted by collectors.
How do I create an account?
Click "Sign Up" in the navigation menu, enter your email and create a password. You'll receive a verification email to activate your account.
Is it free to browse listings?
Yes! Browsing listings and using the wishlist feature is completely free for buyers. Sellers pay a flat monthly subscription ($5 CAD, currently free during beta) plus 3.6% Stripe payment processing fee on sales.
For Buyers
How do I buy cards?
Browse the marketplace, click on any listing you're interested in (singles, lots, or sealed products), review the details and pricing, then click on "Buy or Make Offer" and you can either simply buy the listing or negotiate with the seller before completing the transaction through our secure checkout.
Can I see every card before buying?
For singles and individual card lots (2-50 cards), every card is photographed and priced individually - you see exactly what you're getting. For bulk lots (50+ cards) and sealed products, detailed photos and descriptions are provided so you know what to expect before purchase.
How does payment work?
We use Stripe for secure payment processing. When you complete a purchase, payment is held securely until the seller ships your order. Sellers receive automatic payouts 2 days after successful delivery confirmation.
What if I receive damaged or incorrect items?
Contact the seller first through our messaging system. If you can't resolve the issue, contact our support team at support@primelot.cards with photos and order details.
How does the wishlist work?
Create a wishlist with the cards or players you're looking for. Sellers can browse wishlists and create special offers directly for you, which appear in your dashboard notifications.
For Sellers
How do I create a listing?
Click "Create Listing" in the navigation and choose your listing type (Single Card, Sealed Product, or Card Lot). Add photos, set your price, and provide detailed descriptions. Once published, your listing appears in the marketplace.
What are the fees?
PrimeLot Cards charges 0% commission - you keep 100% of your sale price! Sellers pay a flat monthly subscription ($5 CAD, currently free during beta) plus the standard 3.6% Stripe payment processing fee on each sale.
When do I get paid?
Payouts are processed automatically 2 days after delivery confirmation. Orders close after this period, and your earnings are transferred to your connected Stripe account.
How do I connect my Stripe account?
Go to Settings, click "Connect Stripe Account," and follow the prompts to link your bank account. This is required to receive payouts from sales.
Can I edit my listing after publishing?
Yes, you can edit listing details, add or remove items, and update prices at any time from your Dashboard as long as the listing hasn't been purchased yet.
How does shipping work?
After a buyer completes checkout, you'll receive notification to ship the order. You're responsible for packaging and shipping. We recommend using tracked shipping for protection.
Shipping & Insurance
What is shipping insurance and do I need it?
Shipping insurance (powered by XCover) protects your shipment against loss, damage, or theft for just 1.25% of the item value. Insurance is REQUIRED for items $250+ and defaults to ON for items $100-$249. WITHOUT insurance, you assume full responsibility for any loss or damage - meaning you may not receive your payout and could be liable for refunding the buyer.
How much does shipping insurance cost?
Insurance costs 1.25% of your item's value for domestic shipments (1.50% for international). For example, insuring a $250 card costs just $3.13. You pay this cost upfront via Stripe when purchasing your shipping label. This small cost protects you from losing your entire payout if something goes wrong.
What happens if I don't purchase insurance?
⚠️ WARNING: Without insurance, YOU are fully responsible for the shipment. If the package is lost in transit, you may not receive your payout. If it arrives damaged, you may be liable for refunding the buyer. If it's stolen during shipping, you could lose both the item and the payout. Insurance is your protection against these risks.
What does shipping insurance cover?
Insurance covers: lost packages (never arrived), packages damaged in transit, theft during shipping (before delivery), return shipping costs for damaged items, and re-shipping costs. Trading cards ARE fully covered! Claims are processed by XCover, with 95% resolved within 3 days.
How do I file an insurance claim?
If your insured package is lost, damaged, or stolen: (1) Go to the transaction in your dashboard, (2) Click "File Insurance Claim", (3) Upload photos and describe what happened, (4) Our team reviews and submits to XCover within 24-48 hours, (5) XCover typically approves and pays out within 3 days.
Are trading cards covered by insurance?
Yes! Trading cards (sports cards, Pokémon, etc.) are fully covered by XCover insurance up to $10,000 per shipment. Excluded items include perishables, cash, securities, arms/ammunition, and hazardous materials - but trading cards are 100% covered.
Is insurance required for all shipments?
Insurance is REQUIRED (cannot be declined) for items valued at $250 or more. For items $100-$249, insurance defaults to ON but can be declined at your own risk. For items under $100, insurance is optional but still recommended for valuable cards. Remember: declining insurance means you bear all risk.
Who pays for shipping insurance?
Sellers pay for insurance when purchasing the shipping label. The cost is charged upfront via Stripe checkout, separate from your payout. This ensures the platform doesn't front the insurance cost while your payout is held in escrow.
Payments & Fees
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Google Pay, and Apple Pay. All payments are securely processed through Stripe. No account creation required - it's a simple guest checkout.
Do I need a Stripe account to make a purchase?
No! Buyers don't need a Stripe account. Simply choose your preferred payment method at checkout - enter your card details directly, or use Google Pay or Apple Pay if available on your device. It's a seamless guest checkout experience.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes! All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor trusted by millions of businesses worldwide. We never store your payment details on our servers. Whether you pay with a credit card, Google Pay, or Apple Pay, your financial information is fully encrypted and secure.
How can I earn rewards as a seller?
Active sellers are automatically entered into monthly giveaways and have the opportunity to win prizes. Build positive reviews, maintain a strong seller rating, and the more you sell, the better your chances of winning rewards each month.
Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden fees! Buyers pay the listed price plus any applicable taxes. Sellers pay a flat $5 CAD monthly subscription (free during beta) plus the standard 3.6% Stripe payment processing fee on each sale. That's it - no commission fees!
Account & Settings
How do I change my password?
Go to Settings, scroll to the security section, and click "Change Password." You'll need to enter your current password and choose a new one.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, contact support@primelot.cards to request account deletion. Note that you cannot delete your account if you have active listings or pending transactions.
How do I update my profile?
Go to Settings to update your display name, avatar, and other profile information. These changes appear on all your listings and messages.
What are notifications for?
You'll receive notifications for new messages, offers on your wishlists, sales, purchases, and important account updates. Manage notification preferences in Settings.
Support & Safety
How do I report a problem?
Contact our support team at support@primelot.cards with details about the issue. Include order numbers, screenshots, or other relevant information.
What if a seller doesn't ship my order?
Contact the seller first through our messaging system. If they don't respond within 3 days, contact support and we'll investigate and help resolve the issue.
How do I report a suspicious listing?
Email support@primelot.cards with the listing URL and reason for concern. We review all reports and take action against fraudulent listings.
Is there buyer protection?
Yes! Payments are held securely until delivery is confirmed. You have 2 days after delivery to report any issues. After this period, the order closes and the seller is paid.
